The problem with this race is that there are two outstanding candidates running against one another. Patricia Muscarella is an excellent candidate. Patricia is wise, dedicated and intelligent and she would make an outstanding Judge. However, we are recommending Kathryn Marie Welsh. We have known Kathryn for years and have come to know her personality and her demeanor to be exactly the type we should have on the bench.

This is an easy one, Thomas M. Ramsberger will make an outstanding Judge. His attitude about the law and public service make him very qualified in our opinion.

Another difficult decision. LeAnne Lake is an outstanding candidate. She has extensive experience in the law and she also has the maturity and wisdom you hope to find in a Judge. On the other hand, we have Keith Meyer who is equally well qualified. Additionally, Keith brings with him to the race a genuine desire to make Pinellas County a better place to live. If you get to meet him, ask him why he wants to be a Judge? His answer will convince you, as it did us, that he is the better of two great choices.

Judge Michael F. Andrews is running for reelection against Deborah S. Moss. It is unusual for an attorney to challenge an incumbent Judge. For example there are several uncontested races in this election where the current judge was reelected without a challenge. Ms. Moss is qualified to be a Judge. However, in my opinion, Ms. Moss is challenging Judge Andrews because she does not like the way he conducts his courtroom. I call Judge Andrews' approach being “tough on crime,” but as a criminal defense attorney, Ms. Moss, objects to the Judge’s approach.
On her website, Ms. Moss list her “Areas of Practice” as being the defense of Child Abuse cases, DUI cases and Sex Offender cases.
Sorry, but I do not think that the citizens of this area are ready to elect an attorney who has spent the last 20+ years defending sex offenders, child abusers and DUI drivers.
If you’d like to see for yourself, Ms. Moss’ web site is at www.carlsonmeissner.com. Click on “Our Team of Attorneys” and then select “Debora S. Moss.

This is another difficult election to make a recommendation in. Susan St. John is a delightful woman who is dedicated to public service and who is an intelligent, capable candidate for Judge. However, Kimberly Phillips Todd, has a greater level of experience and support in the legal community. Either of these fine attorneys would make a good Judge, but
